Button City is a wholesome narrative adventure game set in a diorama world of adorable, low poly animal friends who must band together to save the local arcade. Now available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X, Button City offers an array of mini arcade-inspired games within a larger quest-driven story line, filled with humour and heartfelt callbacks to the 90s and the social joys of hanging out at the arcade with friends.

When WINGS Interactive was approached by the team at Subliminal, there was an instant appeal to the bright isometric world of Button City and the values of their diverse development team. Based in New Mexico, Subliminal is indigenous owned and a strong advocate for uplifting marginalized voices and diversity in games. Throughout development, the Subliminal team built out a heartfelt and honest narrative for the player to explore as Fennel, the adorable fox who makes fast friends at the arcade over fiercely spirited Gobabots competition. However, upon learning that their beloved arcade is soon to be shut down, the characters band together in an effort to save it from Peppermint Pepperbottom (yes, even the antagonist is cute!).

Every character in Button City is lovingly crafted in a distinctive and bright style that makes them easy to love.

Button City offers arcade-style mini games within the player experience, including Gobabots, Prisma Beats and reVolution Racer. In Gobabots, players must collect various types of fruit to make a specific smoothie recipe. Prisma Beats switches things up with a rhythm-based dance game that will surely bring up memories of Dance Dance Revolution at the arcade. And for those who like a fast-paced racing games, reVolution Racer shifts things into high speed with simple yet speedy timed track competition.

Button City lets you explore a world full of personality.

In addition to the mini game play, Button City also offers a diverse array of characters to talk to, each with distinct personality traits; and at times, a little attitude to boot. With an overall wholesome take on adolescent curiosity and the heartfelt desire to ‘save the arcade’, Subliminal creates a world that feels simple, sweet, and wholly fun to explore.

Button City is available now on all major platforms, including Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X.
